Colorado Pride – UWS

Pride Soccer Club is proud to announce the return of the Colorado Pride Women’s team to the United Women’s Soccer (UWS) national league. The team will compete in the Western division alongside Calgary Foothills, LA Galaxy OC, Real Salt Lake Women, So Cal Crush and last years National Finalist, Santa Clarita Blue Heat.
Colorado Pride will be coached by A.J. Adcock with assistance from Pride staff. They will play their home games at UCCS starting in early May with the season culminating with the National Championship in late July.
Colorado Pride has had success in the past, both within the league and sending players to the highest level.  In 2015, Pride finished 2nd in the Western Conference, going on to defeat the conference champions, Seattle Sounders Women, before they beat the Laval Comets (Québec, Canada) in the National Semifinal. Pride would end up losing in the finals 2-1 to National Champions Washington Spirit Reserves giving up a goal in the 89th minute. Former Pride players Mallory Weber (No. 14 overall pick) and Brit Eckerstrom (No. 26 overall pick) were both part of the 2016 NWSL draft while Pride player Michaela Abam was selected No. 4 overall by Sky Blue F.C. in the 2018 NWSL draft.  Additionally, former Pride striker, Tara Andrews (2014-2015), has had 2 caps with the Australian National Team since playing for Pride.
The UWS is a national women’s soccer league formed in 2015 under the belief that there was a gap in development between collegiate soccer and the professional ranks. The UWS is sanctioned by U.S. Soccer through the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
The club is very excited for this announcement allowing a pathway between our youth female club members and the professional ranks. More information will be listed on the club’s website including tryout dates and times, schedules, player profiles and more.
