Intermediate program

The Pride Intermediate program offers U9 and U10 players the opportunity to travel and compete against teams from other clubs within the state without the structured training environment of the Junior Academy.  It is more similar to the Developmental program but with travel and official competition.  Intermediate teams have parent/volunteer coaches. Games are organized and scheduled by the Colorado Soccer Association rather than Pride Soccer Club so are subject to the state calendar.

Intermediate teams play two 8 game seasons – Fall and Spring. Four games are played on home fields and four games are played away at the opponents’ field.

Intermediate teams generally practice 2-3 times per week (according to the coach’s discretion), with games on Saturdays.

Intermediate teams receive four technical training sessions per season from a Pride Soccer Club Staff Coach in a group setting. These sessions will be scheduled at the beginning of the season.

To register for the Intermediate program, log on to your Pride Soccer account and select the Intermediate 2016 – 2017 option or contact the relevant DOC (see below)

Intermediate Program Staff– Teams are coached by volunteers.

Intermediate Soccer Season

U9-U10 Boys and Girls – Fall and Spring Seasons (plus optional winter indoor training and futsal at the discretion of the coach).  Registration for the Intermediate program and for an Intermediate team is a year-long commitment as teams are formed in the summer months.

Teams may also compete in pre-season and/or post-season tournaments which can extend the season in terms of training and travel.  There are no tryouts for the Intermediate program, just registration which takes place in the summer.

League games are generally played on Saturdays with occasional games on Sundays. Home games are played either at the Pride Soccer Complex or El Pomar, while away games can take you to all corners of the state.  Our Intermediate teams compete in the CSA (Colorado Soccer Association) leagues and therefore travel to other clubs in the state is required.  CSA determines divisional placement (with assistance from Pride DOCs) and handles the scheduling.

Intermediate Program Fees– Detailed fee disclosure forms are available at the Pride office for all levels of Academy and Competitive teams as well as prior to tryouts. Pride Soccer Club has always offered some of the most affordable competitive fees in the state. Tournament fees, field rental expenses, and travel expenses are additional fees collected at team levels.

Intermediate Uniforms– Pride Soccer Club is proud to be sponsored by Adidas. Complete kits consist of two pairs of socks, two pairs of shorts, and two jerseys. Warm-ups, bags and additional gear may be purchased.

Intermediate Program Questions and Answers

How many players will there be on each roster?
Roster sizes differ from team to team depending on registration.  Rosters sizes for U9 & U10 typically range from 9-12 players with some exceptions.

Can my child play multiple sports?

Yes!!! It is a popular myth that Pride players cannot have multiple commitments or play several sports. We have world class athletes on some of our older Predator teams at the moment. Those teams require great commitment, but we feel that well-rounded athletes can contribute significantly to our program.  We will not discourage players from sampling what is out there. Players and parents, alike, should simply communicate with the coach ahead of time and work together to ensure a positive experience for all concerned.
