Girls ECNL Q&A

Why is Pride entering its teams into ECNL?
At Pride we want to offer the most competitive platform that we can for our players.  The ECNL has a history of providing an environment for elite players that is highly competitive and organized while offering unmatched exposure for those who want to play at the next level.

How will the ECNL teams be formed?
The current Predator teams in the U13-U17 age groups will essentially become our ECNL teams. Coaching assignments will remain in place too.  The oldest ECNL team is considered a U18/U19 team and decisions will be made regarding that roster in the near future.

Will there be another tryout?
We are not planning one at this time.  Any interested players, not currently on a Pride roster, should contact Senior Girls Director AJ Adcock at [email protected]

In what division will our ECNL teams compete?
Pride’s ECNL teams will compete in the Texas Conference.  Although we are waiting for confirmation of the final make-up of the conference, it currently includes clubs from Oklahoma and Texas and will also include Pride and the Colorado Rapids.

How does the structure of the league work?
Our teams will face each opponent twice per season (home and away).  For away trips, we will be partnered with another club, likely the Rapids, to play 2 games per weekend with a game on Saturday and another on Sunday before travelling home.  Therefore each location would host 4 teams at a time.

How many showcase events will each team attend?
The following is required by ECNL.  Other additional non-ECNL events can be attended if desired.

U13 & U14 – Optional events

U15 – 2 ECNL Showcase events

U16 & U17 – 3 ECNL Showcase events

U18/U19 – 1 ECNL Showcase events

What will the training requirements be for ECNL players?
Training requirements will remain in place per the disclosure.  The final schedule may determine that additional training is required.

 How much will it cost?
Costs will be outlined ASAP.
