Pride Announces New PDL Franchise

The staff and board of Pride Soccer Club are delighted to confirm that we have secured a PDL franchise to begin this year in Colorado Springs.  The Colorado Pride Switchbacks U23 PDL team, established as a part of our partnership with the Switchbacks, completes the pathway within our club from youth level to the professional ranks.  The team will be coached by a combination of Pride staff, including Diego Zaltron and Brian Contreras, and coaches from the Switchbacks.  Games will be held at Colorado College and Weidner Field, primarily in the summer months.
The Premier Development League is an amateur-level league that focuses on providing development training and match play opportunities for college-level players and players with professional soccer aspirations. The PDL’s #Path2Pro mission is vertically aligned with Major League Soccer (MLS) and the United Soccer League (USL), in which the Switchbacks currently play. The Pride Switchbacks U23 have been placed in the Mountain Division of the Western Conference and will compete against Albuquerque Sol (NM), Ogden City (UT), Colorado Rapids U23s, and FC Tucson (AZ).In the coming weeks, there will be a number of announcements and events associated with the program including tryout information, ticketing, sponsorship and marketing opportunities and opportunities for Pride players to be exposed to such a competitive environment.  Also, stay tuned for news of an exciting development within the Women’s program.
