PREDATOR 94 GIRLS REACH THE FINALS IN DALLAS
The U14 Predator Girls coached by Shannon Brooks, became the first team in the history of the Pride Soccer Club, to make the finals of the Spring Classic at Dallas Cup. 2008 was the third year in a row that the Predator 94 girls spent Easter weekend in Dallas. Year one and two ended up being great preparation for what was in store for them in 2008.
Prior to the tournament it was easy to see that the Predators were in the strongest pool. Matched against the Tulsa Soccer Club and the D'feeters the Predators would have to play excellent soccer to advance past pool play. The Predators came out in game one and dominated TSC winning 4-0. Game two, later that day, was a hard fought battle ending in a 1-1 tie with the D'feeters. The following morning the girls coasted to a 3-0 victory over Texas Longhorns 94G Orange East.
The Predators finished first in their pool and were lined up to play the Dallas Texans Red West. Again the girls came out with a lot of energy and won the game 3-2, keeping their incredible run alive. Next up the semi-finals!
The Semi-Finals was a rematch between the Predators and Tulsa Soccer Club. Instead of a beautiful Easter Morning, Mother Nature greeted the teams with a stiff North wind dropping temperatures into the lower 40's. This game started out like the first with the Predators jumping on top early with a 2-0 lead. With four minutes left in the game TSC scored their first goal. Incredibly, with less than a minute to play TSC scored again sending this one to overtime. Even though the late surge by TSC shocked the Predators they didn't let that slow them down and they went on to win the game in overtime 3-2.
In the finals the Predators were matched up against Dallas Sting SC Royal. Even though the girls gave it a valiant effort they came out on the losing end of the final 3-0.
We are very proud of the girls. This is a very tight group of girls who have battled through many tough seasons together. Making it to the finals in Dallas was a culmination of years of hard work. They have always been there to accept a challenge when it presents itself. This was the first time that they made it out of pool play in an out of state tournament even though they have pushed some of the best teams in the country to their limit.
Congratulations girls keep up the good work!U15B coached by Danny Leavy took 1st place in the Gold division. Way to go boys!

The Pride Copas 95 U13 boys recently won the Trebol Tournament Silver Division. The team scored 15 goals and gave up 1 goal on the way to a 4 win, 0 loss and 1 tie record. After opening with a 0-0 tie on Friday evening, the team put together 3 wins on Saturday, despite very windy conditions. The day began in the sunshine with an 11-0 victory. That was followed by 1-0 and 2-1 wins. On Sunday the team put together a very solid 1-0 win in the Championship game. There were several chances to increase that lead. A solid team defense held the opponents to a few long range shots. Best of all the team demonstrated good individual skills and some very good team play, moving the ball to take advantage of smooth, wide fields. This was a sound team effort as everyone played in key parts of every game.
