They are done sewing! Next the field must be permanently anchored in the ground. This is done by simply digging a trench all the way around and burying the edges of the turf. Then comes connecting the new turf to what is already there. That seam is bound together by using a fiberglass mesh strip that is inserted under the turf and then glued to both sides. And there you have it…the field is now ready for sand and rubber!
The guys from Copper Mountain Turf and Landscaping have done a great job. Even after losing the last two weekends because of wind (imagine that) they have rallied to get Field 3 to this point. Let’s not jinx anything! Keep the fingers crossed…but…it’s looking good to have the field ready real soon.
