Knights of Columbus First Annual Soccer Challenge State Championship

Hosted By:
Councils Saints Gabriel and John Vianney and Air Force Academy

On a windy, cool, but sunny Saturday morning, the members of the Knights of Columbus Councils 12335 and the Air Force Academy 8200 hosted the 1st ever Knights of Columbus Colorado State Championship Soccer Challenge event at the new Pride Soccer Complex off Woodmen Road.

This was the 1st year that the Knights of Columbus have sponsored this event. Winners of the individual statewide council, regional, and district competitions gathered in Colorado Springs on November 19th to compete with the chance to go on to national competition.

The Knights of Columbus want to recognized Candy Brooks and Core Rendon at the Pride Soccer Club, who donated the use of their new fields for this event. It was a great setting and the fields were in perfect condition!

Members of Sky High Council 8200 from the Air Force Academy assisted members of the Knights of Columbus Council 12335, Saints Gabriel and John Vianney from the Briargate area. Rich Poupore, Council 12335 Trustee, coordinated the statewide event for the council, inviting competitors from around the state. The attendance was great and the winners were very excited to continue on in their competition at the national challenge. Rich said we look forward to an even bigger event next year! Congratulations to all the winners!

Look forward to the Knights of Columbus basketball free-throw competition, to occur during the month of January, in an area near you!
