ODP Championships in Phoenix

Five girls from the Predators 93 were named on the state team for the Championships this past weekend. Kylie Williamson and Jennifer Stoot were called up to the 1992 team and Darcy Jerman, Sarah Schweiss and Kaeli Vandersluis to the 1993 team.

All five girls’ played major roles for their teams, playing the majority of the 5 games over the weekend. The girls on the 93’s actually scored over 50% of their teams goals during the tournament. Both the 92 and 93 teams made it to the finals against So Cal. The 92’s were defeated 3-1 and the 93’s lost narrowly on penalty kicks after drawing the game 1-1 in regulation.

There were four boys from the Predators 94 team that were selected for the state teams that participated in the boys ODP Championships in Phoenix as well. Jake Martinez and Mark Dotseth played for the 1993 team, and Kyle Bearman and Ian Parker played for the 1994 team.

Both the 1993 and the 1994 teams won a game, lost one, and tied one, and played some tough opposition. The 1993 team beat Nevada 4-0, lost to Southern California 2-0, and tied Hawaii 0-0 but dominated the game. The 1994 team beat New Mexico 1-0, lost to Hawaii 3-0, and tied Nevada.

The boys did a great job representing our club and state at the tournament, and were major contributors to their teams’ success. Great job and congratulations.
