Have you wondered what the Pride Board of Directors does? During the Fall of ’07 we worked to create a strong strategic foundation to direct the club over the next 18 months.
The process started by engaging Chenoweth and Associates, a strategic planning consulting firm with strong ties to the soccer community. They guided our planning efforts. The Board and key operational leadership participated in a 3-day retreat evaluating our competitive environment, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
I conducted a series of staff interviews to confirm the plan direction. We also validated the plan against the values that guided our club founders. It was then broken down into measurable and achievable objectives to guide on-going operations.
The result is a comprehensive and consensus agreement for on-going development of the Club. It expands the business framework utilized to manage the Club and most importantly preserves the family culture of Pride Soccer that has always placed “doing what is right for kids” in the forefront.
Our mission is clear:
“Pride is a non-profit soccer club located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We raise the level of soccer in our local community by providing youth players with a quality experience in a safe, positive and challenging environment. We instill a sense of opportunity, confidence and teamwork by offering fundamental through advanced training to further the development of each player .”
Our strategic initiatives focus on our membership, operational excellence, financial stability, and staff development.
The membership focus endeavors to ensure all teams at all levels are offered quality soccer experiences. We will be building a formal sports parenting/coaching partnership program. Focus will sharpen on our speed, agility, and injury prevention programs. Finally, we will readdress our Marketing capabilities.
Operational excellence will govern all club actions. Best practices and thought leadership will pervade all new activities. We will continue to develop our world class Pride Complex. Our vendors will be quality representatives of Pride Soccer.
Financial stability is a key tenant of any organization. Fortunately we have extensive talent to lead us in this area. We will develop prioritized revenue generation and expenditure programs.
On-going staff development is key to serving our membership. We will continue to educate our coaching staff and recruit the best talent to run our Club. Recognition programs will reward excellence.
On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank you for your support. This can not be accomplished without you. The best is yet to come!
